Joyce Laing, well known here in Pittenweem, was an artist and a pioneer of art therapy. Over many years she worked with psychiatric patients and long-term prisoners using art to support them in their rehabilitation. Joyce collected over 1,000 pieces, with she called Art Extraordinary, from the people she worked with. Many of these are now in a permanent exhibition at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum in Glasgow.
The Pittenweem Community Library is pleased to be able to host this free exhibition about Joyce’s life.
