UPDATE: We are reopening on Monday 25 March.
Our long-awaited work started on Wednesday 29 November – welcome progress! Because of the layout of the building we will have to close the library completely during the first phase. As space is tight for workmen and equipment the project is expected to last until the end of January/first week in February. If we get to the point where we can have safe access to the library room before the work finishes we can restart some services, but this very much depends on the contractors.
The Scrabble Club, Bookbug and Reminiscence Café will continue as usual – same day, same time but at a new venue: Art@47 in the High Street. We are enormously grateful to the Pittenweem Arts Festival for allowing us to use their space while the library is closed.
We won’t be able to hold our Christmas party or the raffle but we’ll look forward to having a celebration in the spring instead.
When the project is complete the library will have up to date accessible toilet and baby change facilities and a small kitchen. Our thanks to the generous funders who have made this possible: Fife Council, the Norah Webber Trust and The National Lottery Community Fund. Updates on progress will go up on Facebook and the website.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.
