Talk 1 – 13 October – Coffin Roads
‘Coffin roads’, along which bodies were carried for burial, are a marked feature of the landscape of the Scottish Highlands and islands. Many of these old roads are now popular cycling and walking routes. Professor Bradley
follows eight such roads to discover the distinctive traditions, beliefs and practices around dying, death and
mourning.
Professor lan Bradley is the Divinity Emeritus Professor at the University of St Andrews.
